The tile is manufactured with the natural dimensional variation of authentic brick — slight irregularities tile-to-tile that create the reclaimed look. The 1cm (~3/8") grout joint absorbs this variation cleanly and is part of the design intent. Coverage is calculated at 6.24 square feet per box assuming the proper grout joint.
V5 means high natural variation — exactly what makes it read as authentic brick rather than uniform tile. Designers typically order 10-15% over their estimated square footage to allow for color sorting and pattern arrangement during install. Random blending is the look; lining up similar tiles defeats the character.
Atelier Brick is rated for both, with the same product specification. Outdoor installs typically use Old Red and Multicolor for warmth (gardens, patios, building façades); indoor installs spread across all four colors (interior accent walls, fireplace surrounds, kitchen backsplashes). Frost resistant either way.
